Is too much technology really destroying for the mind?

Is
too much technology really destroying for the mind? Is it too much for the
human brain to hold? Technology was meant to help humanity and move us along in
our daily lives. Apparently, that concept has drastically changed. “It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our
humanity.” It
is simulating and entertaining but, overwhelming and too much to hold. It is
both a blessing and a curse.
To
start this off, technology has its own eras when earlier peoples used it to
survive from the Stone Era to, our current age, the Information Era. The
methods they used have evolved into a catastrophic disaster. Big televisions,
little televisions, pads, pods, phone and, yes, even our toilets have evolved.
Technology is built on trends and fashions in today’s environment. People have
ultimately become too dependent on technology and it is heavily showing.
“Scientists also say that even though people like to multi-tasking- they might
in fact be taxing their brains and tiring themselves out.” Sometimes life,
itself, is too much too handle and adding technology to the equation is
detrimental to some people’s minds.
Moreover,
the President of the United States, has stuck has nose into uncharted
territory. He is bringing us Web 3.0. With faster results and everything at our
disposal, even more, minds in this country will morph into stiff mush. Mr.
Carlin states, “I’ve
been uplinked and downloaded. I've been inputted and outsourced. I know the
upside of downsizing; I know the downside of upgrading. I'm a high-tech
lowlife. A cutting-edge, state-of-the-art, bicoastal mutli-tasker, and I can
give you a gigabyte in a nanosecond.” He speaks the truth. “If the Internet is
only going to get bigger, and the availability of data connections is only
going to grow, and if the Web 2.0 platform is becoming a detriment to the
information society, where do we go next?” Isn’t uploading, downloading, and
viewing enough?
Conversely, technology is loved by
all men, including me. Is has made all life easier and less stressful. And I
could agree with someone if they say society can never get enough technology. “Multi-tasking
is a way of life for millions of Americans…and to many, it seems like the more
technology we can squeeze into every waking moment, the better.” Yes, it has
made learning better, calculating and multi-tasking easier and your downtime
funnier but there should not be a need to spend day and night using with a
complete stop.
To recapitulate, technology is both
its positive and negative effects. Although, Multi-tasking is a way of life for
millions of Americans…and to many […]” it is necessary that we slow down, stop
and take a break. “Everybody gets so much information
all day long that they lose their common sense.” Do not be one of the people who lose
their mind, soul and body to technology.
