Well I'll be a MONKEY'S Uncle

     In the cartoon above, you can see an abundance of monkeys upset and one is holding the sign that says,"Man Is Not Related To The Monkey", while saying "All Those In Favor". In 1925, a school teach by the name of John Scopes was accused one violating the Butler Act. The Butler Act made it "unlawful to teach evolution in  any...school."
     In these times, it was practically illegal to go against religion and with religious figures growing popular in the 1920s; for example, the most popular of those times Billy Sunday, it was hard to speak out against religion. John Scopes was put on trial and was found guilty. This spark a huge debate in America called Science vs. Religion, Creationism, and life's whole Evolution theory. Charles Darwin, also, helped put the theory of man evolving from ape in the minds of millions.
