Poetry vs. Prose (On the Differences between Poetry and Prose)

In the poem, On the Differences between Poetry and Prose, poet T.E. Hulme distinguish the divergence amid poetry and prose.

He starts with comparing prose and algebra. Algebra (prose) contains "concrete things" without any type of visualizations. On the other hand, poetry is a more freelance art. Poetry is more flexible and free to use style and visuals in which "you continuously see a physical thing, to prevent you gliding through an abstract process". In other words, Hulme was saying that prose and algebra has a similar form or composition whereas, poetry is "unrehearsed" and unrestricted.
